When was the last time you stayed up all night? What were you doing?

View other answers

Not that long ago, actually. I'm a night owl, so I do tend to be up later than most, but the last TRUELY all nighter I pulled was for an All-night Laser Tag game in April. Was a lot of fun, didn't get to sleep until about 7:30 am, then only slept about 4 hours before heading home from my friend's place.

Looking forward to doing that again. So much fun!

I'm looking at joining the 501st Badlands Region (Star Wars fan group based on the Imperial side), making a costume of a female Imperial Officer. It's a fairly bland costume.
(a bit manga'd, but good idea)

I want to change it up so it's a corseted top, but I'm having problems figuring out quite how to do it. Any assistance would be great!

Well, I haven't really been leading all that interesting of a life to be posting....and I don't have a lot to bitch about...so, therefore, no posts. *grin*

The most interesting things that have happened in the last 5 weeks:

1. Moved. I'm living in a cute little house that was built in 1911. It's been completely renovated, (but in keeping with the style) so it actually has insulation in it. lol

2. I went to an all night laser tag game and met some cool new people.

3. The Calgary Comic and Entertainment Expo was last weekend, and I got to help Edward James Olmos and Sean Astin with their tables. I got free pictures of myself with them for doing so. :D I also helped guide Beetlecat around the grounds in her Targ quadsuit. So much fun!!

4. Next weekend, I am leaving for a cruise. I will be going to the Eastern Caribbean with my mom and my best friend for our 40th birthdays. My best friend and I have our birthdays exactly 4 months apart to the day. She's the older one. Hehehe Once I come back, I'll be posting pics from it.

That's about it, I guess.

Why is it so hard to get people to give you the information needed to be able to help them? I ask them if I can get one of three things; a 4-digit bus stop number, 2 streets that connect/cross, or their actual address.

You would not believe how many people give me just their street number, not their address. They don't know what streets cross it...they don't know the teleride number. Sometimes it feels like pulling teeth to get the correct info. Very frustrating.

Who (or what) do you consider to be your first love?

View other answers

My first love was someone I met when I was 16. I was almost 17 when we kissed for the first time. We went together for almost a year and a half, and were talking about possibly getting married at some point. Unfortunately, he went off to school, we broke up and didn't keep in touch. I still have the letters he wrote me, and the picture in the frame his mother made me. I think about him every once in a while and hope he's doing well. I tried to find him once in '99. These days, I keep hoping he'll be on FB so I can catch up, see how he's doing...

As some of you may know, I had given birth a year ago in February. I gave up that child (a girl) to a couple who were having problems with conceiving. I found out this morning that the adoption has been finalized as of yesterday. This makes me very happy that the process has been completed.

It's an open adoption, so I get to see pictures of her, and get to visit once in a while. I'm hoping to go up to see her late spring or early summer. She looks a lot like me, my Mom says. She's got curly red hair but blue eyes. I keep hoping those eyes will turn green, but seeing as she's a little over a year now, they probably won't. She's a very happy girl, always smiling and laughing. I hope she stays that way, and doesn't have any cares ever in the world.

I had a really weird dream last night, about a puppy, a purse and a closet. I dreamt that the puppy was a fuzzy little thing, small enough to fit in a purse...which I did. I also put that purse on the shelf in a closet, with the puppy in it so it didn't get hurt/lost/whatever. Then I forgot about it...til much later, when I frantically came home to try and find the puppy, but it had disappeared. I was afraid that I'd forgotten it long enough that it had suffered a horrible death. I don't know why I'd forgotten about the puppy, and I felt bad that I had. I was almost crying in my sleep trying to find it.

Strange...wonder what it means. :/

I thought all my Trek friends (who are not on the startrek community here) would like to know that ST:TE is returning to Vegas as of May. It will be in Neonopolis, down by Freemont Street Experience. It will be open in time for the new movie, but will take about a year to be fully re-installed. So...roadtrip??

If you won the lottery, what would you do with your newfound riches?

It would depend upon the amount. If it were millions upon millions, there's a few things I would do:
a) pay off any outstanding bills I might have
b) buy 2 homes for myself, one in Canada and one somewhere warm for the winter, and pay off my mom's mortgage.
c) find a good financial consultant and put 2/3 of it into long-term savings, siphoning the interest into a regular account so I can live off of that.
d) have a HUAGE party in the tropics, and bring all my friends down for it.
e) purchase a few classic cars
f) get a motorcycle and a car for myself

If it were a smaller amount, I'd definitely make sure I had the bills paid off and anything left over would go into a high-interest savings account, to go towards retirement.

This may sound kinda crazy, but I was scared silly of outdoor toilets. I would rather squat on the side of the road than use them. I was afraid that something would reach up through the hole and grab me, pulling me down inside the toilet. Plus, the spiders didn't help.

Now, I can use outdoor toilets, but that doesn't mean I like to.

It's the last day in office for George Bush. There's been a lot of talk in the media lately about Bush's legacy. What do you think he will be most remembered for?

being an idiot, plain and simple. As much as he wants to be remembered as someone who brought freedom to an oppressed people, he won't be. He'll be remembered more as someone who brought an unending war to a nation, sortof like Vietnam.

I had a pretty good Christmas. Went to Red Deer and saw my Dad, step-mom and brothers, as well as my best friend, Pam, and my uncle. My dad helped me rent a car, so I was able to go where I wanted to, when I wanted to, and not have to take the bus home...yay. I had not too bad a haul...baking pans, a clear teapot and four mugs with blooming teaballs, 2 movies (Lost Boys and GalaxyQuest) and 2dvd's of Betty Boop cartoons, a $100 gift card, which I used to get myself a silver PS2 and a SIMS2 game, a $10 Second Cup card and a few little things in my stocking.

I almost bought myself a laptop as my christmas present to myself, but decided to wait until I can afford the extended warranty, too. I don't want to be stuck with paying the full price, if something goes wrong with it at any time in the next couple years.

So, that was my Christmas in a nutshell. How was yours?

Mountains. No question...part of the reason I moved to Cowtown. I've always felt more at home in the mountains than on flat land.
